Its not all doom..heres a video to cheers you up

Bike 2 Oz is a video series about the young British couple who successfully cycled the 17,000Km from Oxford (UK) to Sydney (Australia).
Rather than damage the climate by flying, they chose to travel from one side of the world by bicycle & cargo ship.
Watch it on

"They said we would never get to the North Pole because of the damage the car has already done to the ice cap. Perhaps that's then what we've proved most of all, really. The inconvenient truth is, it doesn't appear to have even scratched the surface.."

For the bouffant optimists, a toy car: the new Fiat 500. Its 3.5 metres long 1.3 wide, weighs 900kg and makes 70-100hp out of its 1.2 or 1.4 litre engines. It does 50mpg. Underneath the snazzy retro top half the bottom half is a Fiat Panda, the Panda is bigger, a lot cheaper, and more - honest? Why? The old Fiat 500 weighed 500kg, made 20hp out of a .5lt engine. It was a tad under 3m long and 1.6m wide. It got 62mpg. So the new one is 15% longer, a foot wider, double the weight, makes four times the power and is 20% less fuel efficient.

I came here via a news article in the Guardian in the UK the other day re your website exploring psychological implications of denial of climate change. Good piece. Good site you have here.

As we "consume! slash! burn!" our way to possible extinction of the human species in 30 more generations or so, your site is important, if nothing else than as an archive of how stupid we were. Or blind. Or comfort-prone.

Wonder if you have ever posted anything about possibility of polar cities for future survivors of global warming in the yaer 2500 or so, and what the psychological implications of such a concept are? If interested, ask me for more info or visit my website above or google the term "polar cities". Got an email from Dr Lovelock last month saying: "This may very well happen and soon!"
